1977 Topps Star Wars card prices

10 cards · 11 printings · 3 sets · 35 sourced observations · 0 verified sales

The 1977 Topps set is where a Star Wars card market began, and it is priced by grade more than by card. Heritage’s 5 May 2026 auction repriced the top of it: Luke Skywalker #1 in PSA 10 at $687,500, the O-Pee-Chee Luke #1 at $375,000 and The Villainous Darth Vader #7 at $206,250. The same Vader #7 in PSA 10 reads $4,769 on PriceCharting’s per-grade column (1 Sep 2026) — two guides, one grade, figures 43× apart, which is why a reference figure prints with its source and never as a price. Card Ladder counted the PSA 10 population of Luke #1 at 9 (1 Sep 2026).

The three blue chips, grade by grade

Luke #1, Leia #5 and Vader #7 from the 1977 Topps set. A cell prints a figure only where a named source has one for that exact grade; the rest stay blank rather than interpolated.

O-Pee-Chee and the regional printings

The Canadian O-Pee-Chee card looks like the Topps card and is a separate market: Heritage sold the O-Pee-Chee Luke #1 in PSA 10 for $375,000 on 5 May 2026, against $687,500 for the Topps printing the same day. Scanlens, UK and Mexican printings are catalogued as their own rows when the research names them, and a comp from one never enters another’s cell.

How a Slabpricing number is made

Recent verified sales
Completed public sales, matched to one printing and one grade, with the excluded ones listed.
Exact variant matching
A 1977 Topps card and its O-Pee-Chee twin, a Refractor and its Atomic /150, a base card and its Serialized treatment: separate rows, separate comps.
Sample size
n is printed next to every price. It is the reason to believe the number, so it is never hidden.
Confidence
confident · thin · stale · no-data. A change figure prints only on a confident cell.
